Synopsis
Adam Sharp is content. Ele se dá bem com sua companheira, Claire, ele faz ocasionalmente o trabalho de consultoria em TI para manter-se ocupado e por enquanto ele não toca muito mais piano, ele é o especialista em música na noite de trivia do pub local. A vida não poderia ser melhor. E, no entanto, algo sempre parecia estar faltando.

O livro narra em primeira pessoa os dilemas amorosos de Adam , um homem inglês de 49 anos que está vivendo uma crise em seu casamento e graças a esta crise e a um email que recebeu com um simples OI , ele começa a relembrar os melhores três meses de sua vida quando conheceu na Austrália o que ele chama de O Grande Amor de sua Vida, a jovem Angelina.Eles viveram uma paixão avassaladora na juventude e Adam nunca se recuperou nem superou a garota.

Até ai parece tudo bem, mais um amor de juventude que não deu certo, mas ao seguir com seu relato Adam se revela a meu ver um homem fraco que decididamente não soube lutar por quem ele amava e ainda digo mais ele se aproveitou da vulnerabilidade e fragilidade de Angelina. Ele realmente a amava mas não se achava suficiente para ela e ficava a todo instante esperando que ela tomasse a iniciativa de algo mais sério e concreto, sendo que ela tinha acabado de sair de um relacionamento com um cara que só a diminuia e menosprezava.

O livro alterna até a metade presente e passado e depois ficando no presente no momento em que Adam precisa definir sua vida e demonstrar pela primeira vez o que quer do futuro.
Confesso que se eu soubesse que o livro seria sobre amores impossíveis ,eu não teria pegado para ler pois sempre fico muito abalada com este tipo de leitura tanto que em 47% do livro eu já estava com uma forte ressaca. Pior ainda foi perceber no final que o livro foi inspirado de certa forma em Casablanca, filme que me deixou arrasada por meses.

Sorte que o escritor soube criar o suspense de como terminaria esta história de amor e tambem montou uma trama linda entre Angelina e Adam toda dialogada por músicas ,porque senão realmente não sei se eu teria me arriscado a ler até o fim.

Cheguei ao final sem saber porque os dois não puderam nem podiam ficar juntos e me confundi bastante com as passagens de tempo em vários momentos.
Conclusão .....o livro é um livro adulto com temática adulta que mostra bem como a mente humana é complexa e consequentemente como relacionamentos são complicados.

The book tells in first person the love dilemmas of Adam, a 49 year old English man who is experiencing a crisis in his marriage and thanks to this crisis and an email he received with a simple Hi, he begins to remember the best three months of his life when he met in Australia what he calls The Great Love of his Life, the young actress Angelina. They lived a passion overwhelming in their youth and Adam never recovered nor move on cause this girl.

So far it seems okay, plus a love of youth that did not work, but following with his narrrative Adam reveals to me a weak man who decidedly did not know how to fight for whom he loved and I still say he took advantage of the vulnerability and fragility of Angelina. He  loved her but believed that he was not enough for her and he kept waiting for her to take the initiative of something more serious and concrete, since she had just gotten out of a relationship with a guy who only diminished and despised her.

The book switches to the present and past til half of it and then staying in the present at the moment Adam needs to define his life and demonstrate for the first time what he wants from the future.
I confess that if I knew that the book would be about impossible love, I would not have taken to reading because I always get very shaken with this type of reading so much that in 47% of the book I already had a strong hangover. Worse still was to realize at the end that the book was inspired in a sort of way in Casablanca, film that left me devastated for months.

Lucky me  that the writer knew how to create the suspense of how this love story would end and also put together a beautiful plot between Angelina and Adam all dialogued by beautiful and great songs, because otherwise I really do not know if I would have risked reading it until the end.

I reached the end without knowing why the two could not be together at present either in the past and I got confused enough in some moments .
Conclusion ..... the book is an adult-themed  book that shows how well the human mind is complex and consequently how relationships are complicated.
