    Sinopse:

    **2015 RITA Finalist!**

"With Southern charm and a deeply romantic plot, readers will fall in love with this modern day fairy tale." --RT BOOK REVIEWS

From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery...

In this modern-retelling of "Beauty and the Beast," Savannah Carmichael, betrayed by an unreliable source, returns to her hometown of Danvers, Virginia with her once-promising journalism career in ruins. Given the opportunity to get back in the game by writing a patriotic human interest piece, Savannah turns her attention to the town hermit, Asher Lee, a wounded veteran who returned to Danvers eight years ago, and hasn't been seen since.

After an IED explosion in Afghanistan took Asher's hand and disfigured half of his face, he's lived a quiet life on the outskirts of Danvers where the locals respect his privacy...that is, until Savannah Carmichael comes calling in a borrowed sundress with a plate of homemade brownies. When Asher agrees to be interviewed by Savannah, he starts feeling things for the beautiful reporter that he hasn't felt in years.

Misfits in small-town Danvers, Savannah and Asher create a bond right away, touching each other's hearts in ways neither thought possible. When a terrible mistake threatens to drive them apart, they'll have to decide if the love they found in one another's arms is strong enough to fight for their hard-won happily ever after.

** Contemporary Romance. Due to profanity, realistically depicted scenes of war and very strong sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.**

    Resenha

Quanto mais a hora for chegando, mais me sentirei feliz!

    Review

"The twelve most important milestones of any relationship."

Savannah is disillusioned, after conquering the dream of working as an investigative reporter, she sees her entire world collapse when she is deceived by a theoretically reliable source on a subject . Sad she returns to her hometown for her younger sister's wedding. Scarlet is the model of American girl, all beautiful and sweet, she loves to talk to her older sister and it is with these twelve milestones that this story begins and it is each one of these topics that will open each chapter of this plot full of passion, Forgiveness and recommencement.

Savannah has always been considered the smart girl of the family, dreaming of conquering the world, she moves to New York but a matter destroys her career. She finds that all is not lost as she thought, and thanks to a new opportunity, she will need to approach Asher Lee, a war veteran who had his life transformed after being disfigured by a Mine that exploded near him.

" All she could see was the weathered, rugged handsomeness of his left side, the imperfection of his nose, the occasional twinkle in his brown ey, the easy way his long legs crossed in front of him."

Asher, after suffering a lot on his return from the war, decides to isolate himself from the world until an attractive girl knocks on his door with a plate of brownies and a smile on face.

" It was like music, like the heroine from one of the more melodramtic historical romances he sometimes reads."

At first, even intrigued, he does not accept the interview that Savannah asks him to do about his life, but thanks to his friend, housekeeper and mother Surigato Miss Pottis who was also Savannah's teacher, he changes his mind.

"If, for example, you come at four o'clock in the afternoon, then at three o'clock I shall begin to be happy. I shall feel happier and happier as the hour advances. At four o'clock, I shall already be worrying and jumping about. I shall show you how happy I am! But if you come at just any time, I shall never know at what hour my heart is to be ready to greet you . . . One must observe the proper rites . . ."

Then you ask me what an excerpt from the Little Prince does in a book of Beauty and the Beast .... I tell you ..... Everything , because in accepting the interview, Asher imposes rules on the visits of Savannah and one of them is that the meetings happen at his house always at four o'clock and just like the fox's explanation of what Captivate is, little by little this unlikely couple will look forward to the meetings and gradually I was also being captivated and plunging into beauty of each of these moments.

" The beautiful maiden who showed up at the beast's castle, only to find there was more man to the monster than she ever could have guessed."

As you expect to live this love will not be easy, because she still wants to conquer the world and he does not see himself leaving his mansion. And these were points that did not make me favorite the story. While understanding that the writer wanted to show how each of them, although realizing that the relationship had no future, could not avoid falling in love with each other more and more, I thought that the unfolding of the plot was a bit repetitive in this matter. But that  this detail  didn't ruin the whole story, it only slows down its ending.

Narrated in third person from the perspective of each of the protagonists, the writer brings elements of the second version of this fairy tale as well as the first version of Disney and builds a hot, dramatic and fascinating love story with everything a romantic  like me wants, clichés moments, books, sunset and many declarations of love.

Although it looks beautiful the cover of the national ebook, I found that the American cover combines more with the book and conveys much more the aura that surrounds Asher.

In times of release of Disney's film , reading this book and see the film is a must for anyone who loves new versions of world literature classics and stories loaded with lyricism.
    4/5 stars.
