Trazendo de volta as narrativas fascinantes da mitologia grega e inspirada no poema de Shakespeare ,Vênus e Adonis, Staci Hart cria uma trama repleta de romantismo onde os deuses moram num Olimpo moderno e continuam a desafiar uns aos outros em seus joguinhos com os humanos.
No primeiro volume da série, Afrodite é desafiada por Apolo no jogo do amor, jogo no qual ela nunca perdeu mas que Apollo precisa ganhar se quiser ver seu grande e antigo desejo atendido.

Lex é uma garota normal que trabalha numa livraria e que apesar de querer amar depois de ver sua mãe sofrer muito no passado decidiu que jamais deixaria este sentimento tomar conta de seu coração.

Já Dean é um cara calado , totalmente quebrado que sempre escreveu poemas e que com a ajuda de seu melhor amigo e companheiro de banda Roe, se tornou músico e está prestes a gravar seu primeiro CD quando uma situação inesperada ,o coloca em maus lençois. O cara é o pecado em pessoa e para completar não sabe dizer Não quando qualquer garota se insinua para ele, seja ela comprometida ou não. Por conta disso sempre se mete em confusões ,so que desta vez ele não pode arriscar nada muito menos o sucesso da banda, então precisará aprender a dizer Não.

O que Lex e Dean nunca imaginaram era que se tornariam peões nas mãos dos deuses e que veriam suas vidas transformadas para sempre.

Narrado em terceira pessoa alternando Olimpo e Nova York, passado e presente, aos poucos, fui me envolvendo na trama , conhecendo todos os personagens suas dores, desejos e amores alem de tomar partido e começar a torcer para que no final tudo desse certo e ninguem saisse ferido.

Adorei a história e o romance pois me fez relembrar aqueles filmes antigos que envolviam mitologia grega repletos de aventuras ,intrigas, vinganças, amores e poderes extraordinários . Só que neste caso o Olimpo é como um mundo paralelo onde os deuses estão repaginados e modernos e vivem como nós utilizando toda tecnologia que dispomos.

Só não favoritei porque algumas vezes a passagem de tempo não ficava clara e eu demorava de perceber se estav no presente ou no passado dái essa falta de linearidade temporal me deixou um pouco confusa fazendo com que a leitura se tornasse um pouco mais lenta porem não menos atraente.

Bringing back the fascinating narratives of Greek mythology and inspired by Shakespeare's poem, Venus and Adonis, Staci Hart creates a plot full of romanticism where the gods dwell in a modern Olympus and continue to challenge each other in their little games with humans.

In the first volume of the series, Aphrodite is challenged by Apollo in the game of love, a game in which she never lost but which Apollo needs to win if he wants to see his great and old desire realized.

Lex is a normal girl who works in a bookstore and who despite wanting to love after seeing her mother suffer a lot in the past decided that she would never let this feeling take over her heart.
Dean is a quiet, totally broken guy who always wrote poems and with the help of his best friend and fellow bandmate Roe, he became a musician and is about to record their first CD when an unexpected situation puts him in a bad mood. The guy is the sin in person and to complete does not know how to say No when any girl insinuates herself to him, compromised or not. Because of this he always gets into trouble, only this time he can not risk anything much less the success of the band, so he will have to learn how to say No.

What Lex and Dean never imagined was that they would become pawns in the hands of the gods and that they would see their lives transformed forever.

Narrated in the third person alternating Olympus and New York, past and present, little by little, I got involved in the plot, knowing all the characters their pains, desires and loves besides taking sides and starting to hope that in the end everything went right and nobody Get hurt.
I loved the history and romance because it reminded me of those old films that involved Greek mythology full of adventures, intrigue, vengeance, love and extraordinary powers. Only in this case Olympus is like a parallel world where the gods are repaginated and modern and live like us using all the technology that we have.

I just did not favorite it because sometimes the passage of time was not clear and I was lost without knowing if it was in the present or in the past. These moments with lack of temporal linearity make the reading become a little slower but not less attractive.
