The follow-up to Where the Blame Lies—Where the Truth Lives is a gripping, page-turning, romantic thriller that will leave you gasping for breath.
When the director of a local mental health hospital is found murdered and mutilated, Homicide Detective Reed Davies is first on scene. What was done to the body is gruesome. Inexplicable. But Reed is dealt another curveball when he finds that the doctor who discovered the victim is someone Reed is intimately familiar with—a woman with whom he shared one passionate night weeks before.
Dr. Elizabeth Nolan is somehow tangled up in the crime, and even while Reed must now question her possible involvement, he can’t help being drawn to the beautiful, enigmatic woman.
As more bodies appear and the devious killer terrorizes Cincinnati, a shocking connection begins to emerge, one that not only involves Dr. Nolan, but Reed himself. A connection more twisted and elaborate than he can imagine. Now Reed must hunt the monster down, a killer who will stop at nothing to see his diabolical plan to its final, deadly conclusion.
Review
Another fantastic book by Mia Sheridan that took my breath away and left me jaw-dropping. She has such great power with words that it made me feel every moment of tension, anguish and pain. There were moments when I had to stop reading, go for a walk, drink water, take a deep breath and count to three to immerse myself in the plot again. OH MY!
Where The Truth Lives is the sequel to Where the Blame Lies and should be read in the correct order even though telling the story of different couples. The book begins by showing Lisa and Reed's past so that we can understand where their trauma comes from.
Lisa is a psychologist at a hospital where a hideous and macabre crime scene takes place. She is a mysterious and lonely woman who carries strong pains from a suffering past that she has not yet managed to overcome.
Reed is an honest, hardworking and extremely loyal detective brought up by a loving family who did everything they could to keep him from being traumatized by a tragedy from his past.
Both will find themselves involved in a string of crimes that will put Reed's entire jurisdiction on alert.
Of course, if we're talking about Mia Sheridan, we're talking about intense romances with beautiful happy endings. But in this work, the writer went further, bringing great hot moments and a puzzle filled with seemingly nonsensical clues that with each piece delivered left me more perplexed, confused and maddened to discover what was behind everything and who was the murderer and of course cheering for this cute and lovely couple.
I would like to thank the writer immensely for the way she built the ending. What a wonderful ending! Everything was there, all the elements worthy of a perfect suspense romance and an incredible closure for the duology. There I go to dive into another literary hangover ....
OH MY GOD !!!!! I only say one thing: if you like this style of romance, READ ... just read it and you won't regret it.

Resenha
Senhor !
MEU DEUS DO CÉU !!!!!
