Review
Emma Scott is one of those kind of writers whose books I read without even knowing the synopsis and it is always certain that I will fall in love. With The Girl in the Love Songs, it was no different. She brought to life characters so real that it seems that we already know them from somewhere.
Violet is a normal girl with a crush on the most beautiful boy in school and who has everything she wants except a quiet family. His parents lately look like strangers and can only scream at each other. Right on her birthday as they fight, she sees a boy she doesn't know from her window and even though he is a total stranger, she can't resist getting close because of the loneliness that she feels in her room.
Miller is a suffering boy who saw his life collapse overnight and witness his mother's constant struggle to give her son a roof and food without success. In a distressing night, he decides to take a walk to escape his harsh reality and ends up meeting the sweet Violet.
From there, a beautiful, painful and exciting new journey begins for these two young people.
The book is divided into four parts each showing a moment in their lives since the moment they met at thirteen years old and I confess that the part I loved most was without a doubt the one that shows they discovering love.
I loved Miller's friends so much and fell in love with Rider too. I can already imagine how tense and strong book two will be. I also loved the songs and the moment when they are presented. I loved the cover and all the sweetness transmitted by it.
5/5 stars
Resenha
5/5 estrelas.
